This
awards winning Guesthouse @ Eskbank has undergone extensive upgrading and refurbishing work. This family friendly Guesthouse (
Rathan House built 1852 ) had a new Bed and Breakfast wing
completed in 2004. Ewan and Irene MacRae have added to the
ambiance of a grand old Scottish Mansion by building a new wing
with new excellent standard bedrooms with deep pile Scotch wool
carpeting modern ensuite facilities, double glazed sash & case
windows and excellent insulation.
The
newbuild used traditional stonebuild to ensure no clash with the
attractive, leafy Eskbank and Newbattle Abbey conservation area.
Choose "The Guesthouse @ Eskbank" in Dalkeith and you
would have an immaculate warm room with ensuite facilities and
enjoy a traditional old fashioned Highland healthy breakfast in
the grand dining room. You would also find a large and attractive,
childsecure, walled garden with a croquet lawn - so you can relax
and de-stress while the kids let off their excess steam playing
with Irene and Ewan's 3 Flatcoated Retreivers. Guests have been
complimentary since completion of the Eskbank upgrading works. If
